So what started off as going off to Baja for three weeks to clear my head, feel the warm rays of the summer sun on the Tropic of Cancer and do a little networking for Baja job opportunities has turned into a 10-week sojourn including settling down for the month of June in my own little cabaña near the Villa del Palmar resort in Cabo San Lucas. |

Ever wonder why Los Cabos and other select Mexican destinations come into being and grow like crazy? It's not luck or coincidence. It's all very well-planned. Thanks to Fonatur, the "institution responsible for the planning and development of sustainable tourism projects." And with respect to the Baja Peninsula specifically, there is the vision of the Escalera Nautica, the Nautical Ladder --- a mega project; canceled "as is" in early 2010. |

No videos today ... Just some journaling | ||||
According to my little red journal, after dog walking, Guillermo Meza Rodriguez de Jalisco stopped by and we had PB&J sandwiches for lunch on the Club Cabo veranda. Thomas Henseler, too. As of Christmas 2010, he has relocated back to Peru where he is Operations Director for Aranwa Hotels in the town of Urubamba in the Sacred Valley at over 9,000 feet elevation. That evening, Thomas and I went to his new home, under construction, up the hill and installed barbed wire fence. Pooped and sweaty, we skipped dinner and had Margaritas in my cabana in exchange for a promise of an evening dinner at the finest Villa resort restaurant ... one of 11 he manages ...need name, Villa Estancia. WOW! Mostly a series of appetizers that were incredible and filling. You know the kind, beautiful small amount on a garmongous plate. onsite gourmet BBQ dinner goes elsewhere |
